Device Properties

The Device Properties editor displays device information and basic configuration properties, divided into the following categories:

  • Device Identification

  • Product Information

  • Device Status

  • Start-up Settings

  • Default Parameters (AntumbraDisplay only)

Standard properties are shown in bold. Advanced properties are shown in italics.

Displayed fields can be sorted in one of two ways by clicking the following icons:

Initially only the basic fields are shown. To reveal all fields, click the sb icon advanced  Advanced button.

Enter all or part of a property name in the Filter box to narrow down the displayed properties.

Device Identification

Property Description

Device Name

Used to identify the device.

Location

The physical location of the device.

Description

Other identifying information for the device.

Box number

Physical address used for identification by the Dynalite system.

Serial number

The serial number of the device.

Device location sequence

Identifies devices sequentially on a series network, not required.

System designer device number

Populated automatically, not required.

Product Information

Property Description

Product name

These fields are populated automatically, and identify the product type, hardware, firmware, and bootloader versions.

Property Description

Device status list

These fields are populated automatically, and show information about the device creation, modification, and current status.

DyNet bus voltage

Start-up Settings

Property Description

Sign on at start up

If enabled, the device sends a sign-on DyNet message when turned on or reset.

Start delay (rounded to 10 ms)

Delay after start-up before sending sign-on message.
Maximum: 00:30:000 (rounded to 10 ms).

Start-up preset

Leave set to Previous Preset unless advised by Dynalite.

Comms

Property Description

Area zero transmit

Toggle the ability to send all-areas messages.
Leave disabled unless advised by Dynalite.

Default to DyNet2

Leave disabled unless advised by Dynalite.

Features

Property Description

Enable area link for optional opcodes

Affects certain DyNet messages that may ignore area linking by default.
Leave set to True unless advised by Dynalite.

Temperature Unit (Revolution Display only)

Property Description

Global temperature unit

Sets the temperature display to the User configured default or overrides it to force °C/°F.

Language (Revolution Display only)

Property Description

Display Language

Sets the display language using ISO 639-1 two-letter codes.

Device Logical Address

Changes to these properties are automatically copied to the corresponding native properties (all devices) and page controller properties (AntumbraDisplay only) in Panel Data, and to corresponding Temperature/Humidity Sensor properties.

Property Description

Logical Area

The logical area where the device is located.

Join

The static join of the device.

BLA

The base link area, if any, where the keypad is located.
Leave disabled unless required.

Default Parameters (AntumbraDisplay only)

These properties determine the default values for new button functions and text elements.

Changes here will affect all existing button functions and display elements currently using the default values. Functions and elements with custom values are unaffected.
Property Description

Temperature unit

Toggles between Celsius (°C) and Fahrenheit (°F).

Minimum temperature setpoint
Maximum temperature setpoint

The highest and lowest temperatures that can be selected by the Increment/Decrement Temperature Setpoint functions (-127 to 127).

Text font size

The font size for button text elements (0-255).

Dynamic element font size

The font size for dynamic text elements (Small, Medium, Large).

Display time minimum update

If the device does not receive a time update over the network in this interval, any time indicator fields on the display are blanked out.
Devices configured to transmit time should be set do so within this interval.

Temperature Sensor

Property Description

Control

Enable/disable temperature sensor

Broadcast temperature

If enabled, the device periodically broadcasts temperature to the network.
This feature should be limited to one device per area to minimize network traffic.

Respond to temperature requests

If enabled, the device replies to requests with the current temperature status.
This feature should be limited to one device per area to minimize network traffic.

Measured temperature offset (C°)

Adjusts the broadcast temperature by this amount (-12 to 12).

Min trigger time

The minimum delay between temperature broadcasts.

Max trigger time

The maximum delay between temperature broadcasts, even if the change is less than the Delta Value.

Delta value (°C)

If the temperature changes by more than this amount AND the Min trigger time has elapsed, the device broadcasts the current temperature.

Humidity Sensor (Revolution only)

Property Description

Control

Enable/disable humidity sensor

Broadcast humidity

If enabled, the device periodically broadcasts humidity status to the network.
This feature should be limited to one device per area to minimize network traffic.

Respond to humidity requests

If enabled, the device replies to requests with the current humidity status.
This feature should be limited to one device per area to minimize network traffic.

Measured humidity offset (%)

Adjusts the broadcast humidity by this percentage (-63 to 63).

Min trigger time

The minimum delay between humidity broadcasts.

Max trigger time

The maximum delay between humidity broadcasts, even if the change is less than the Delta value.

Delta value (%)

If the humidity changes by more than the defined amount AND the Min trigger time has elapsed, the device broadcasts the current humidity.
